Books and resources

For anyone who has spent much time around me they know that I am constantly devouring books. Currently, I consume a minimum of two books per month from Amazon along with checking out quite a few from the library on their overdrive app.

I have listed a few that have been really helpful to me.  All of these have been great resources in decision making and productivity. These are a few of my personal favorites

Essentialism: The Disciplined Pursuit of Less

This book does an awesome job of helping you boil down things into what is most important.  I have read this book as well as having listened to it on audible.

The Practice of System and Network Administration, Second Edition

The first edition of this book is what I cut my teeth on during my early years running smaller IT shops. This book gives you a great starting framework in how to manage and run your systems.

I use a modified version of David Allen’s productivity system for my daily productivity.  While I struggle to use his system exactly as is I think it’s an excellent resource for those looking to be more productive.
